The Woman - by Dan McGee 3/11/08
A golden waterfall flows softly
around an earthy face
smoothed by waters of emotion.
Two sapphire jewels,
planted above a high peak,
sparkle in the light,
along with pearls buried deep
in a round vein of ruby.
Two soft doves
perched side by side,
stand guard over
a small swirling ocean.
Two upper limbs of willow
begin strong,
to end soft and tender.
Two lower limbs of oak
fortify the whole,
begin strong,
to end firm as roots,
yet soft to touch.
The woman,
firm yet soft,
fragile yet fortified,
strong yet weak,
imperfect yet perfect.
