Which is better, a cat or a dog?

The debate over the cat and the dog is a very old controversy and continues to be one of the main topics children discuss. Every day a child is loved by either a cat or a dog, and the child is convinced that that type of animal cannot be matched regardless of another child's experience. Taking a look at the practical side of the debate, we can arrive at an answer with a simple sentence. Cats are better pets because they are less destructive, not as likely to be as nasty as dogs, and also have a sense of personal hygiene.

Cats are far less destructive than a dog simply because they do not have the will to do such things as chewing on shoes, tearing doors down, and turning the house into a complete wreck. Cats only perform such feats when they are severely provoked to do so. Normally, a cat will only seek a hiding place or some place to which it can get away from people or other things it may be nervous about. When a cat does become destructive, it does little damage compared to the amount that can be produced by a dog.

Finally, cats have a sense of personal hygiene. Cats will often clean themselves and have a very low tolerance for being unclean. Dogs on the other hand do not care any thing about being clean. They go about life in dirt, grime, and dry saliva. Dogs do not care where they deposit feces, whereas a cat has the sense to dig a hole and cover it up, also having a sense of environmental awareness. Dogs do not care about the environment; they just go where they are standing.

Overall, cats are far better pets than dogs because they are clean, have personal hygiene, and are less destructive. Certainly more benefits are present in a cat than in a dog. This analogy will continue to be debated and argued over, but some people will never face the facts. There are many perspectives to each side, and because of that, this argument will never be over.
